The Camdenton Fire Department is an ISO class 4 department which provides fire, EMS and rescue services to the residents and visitors of the City of Camdenton and the Camdenton Airport.

The City of Camdenton is in the heart of Lake of the Ozarks which is visited by many tourist year around and is at the busy intersection of 2 major highways, MO Highway 5 & US Highway 54.   Has a population of approximately 3000 residents, is approximately 5 square miles in size and is funded by sales tax.   The City of Camdenton was founded due to the construction of Bagnell Dam and the formation of the Lake of the Ozarks.   Within the City of Camdenton is the Camdenton R-III School Campus (Kindergarten - 12th grade & a Technical Center).   When the campus is in operation the population on the campus is 6000.

CFD was formed in 1931 and is a progressive combination fire department with both paid and volunteer personnel.   We also provide fire safety code enforcement, inspections for commercial occupancies (new & existing buildings) and public education / fire prevention programs.   Since our formation we have evolved into a professional, well equipped, highly trained Emergency Service Department.

One of the most important missions of this department is public education / fire prevention activities that we provide to the local schools and day care centers.   If safety can be learned starting at an early age, then it will stay with our children through their adult lives.   As they say, "an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure."   We feel prevention is worth all the effort.

The Camdenton Fire Department is operated by a group of dedicated volunteers who are supported by three full time paid personnel (1 Fire Marshal, 1 Captain and 1 Firefighter/EMT).   We are constantly looking for more civic minded individuals that are willing to go through the training necessary to provide this service to our community.   Contact us if you have any questions, would like a tour of the fire station & equipment or would like to join the Camdenton Fire Department.   If you are ever in the area, please feel welcome to stop by and look our department over.

CFD is also a member of Lake Area Emergency Service Association (LAESA).   This is an organization of the emergency departments from around the lake that have come together to use their collective knowledge to facilitate better training, purchasing, and cooperative responses to major incidents.
